Marine GIROUXR&D Manager UALC

An agricultural engineer by apprenticeship, with training in the field, Marine initiated the development of an R&D unit within UALC to reinforce all the technical work on the evaluation of Maternal Qualities and Boucher Aptitudes already carried out for years within the company. It is committed to innovation in the collection of new traits of importance to breeding operations: quality of immune transfer in suckler cows (analysis of colostrums and immunity of calves born); evaluation of livestock body composition by back ultrasound and correlation with maternal qualities evaluated (sexual precocity of heifers and fertility, calving aptitude, milk production and calf growth); fattening management using back ultrasound on purebred cattle (Limousins & Salers) and crossbred cattle (Charolais x Salers, Angus x Salers, Limousin x Holstein), as well as equines (draught horses); and more to come…

It contributes to improving farm productivity through genetics, while maintaining an ethical and sustainable approach to breeding, ensuring animal welfare and herd profitability. She is keen to share the latest advances in research conducted with breeders and agricultural professionals.
